West Vigo is 8-1 against Greencastle since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Vikings will challenge the Tiger Cubs at 5:30 p.m. West Vigo is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
West Vigo is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Cloverdale 28-0 on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Vikings with their most commanding win of the season.
Cameron Funk was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Jaleigh Lindley and Grace Rodgers did most of the damage at the plate: Lindley fired off six RBI, four runs, and four doubles while going 5-for-6, while Rodgers went a perfect 5-for-5 with seven RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those five hits gave Lindley a new career-high. Briley Wolfe was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Greencastle suffered their closest defeat since May 9, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Northview by a score of 7-5. The loss continues a trend for the Tiger Cubs in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost nine in a row.
Haley Iseman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. She also put up a run, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Creviston, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
West Vigo pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Greencastle, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
West Vigo skirted past Greencastle 4-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
