The Crystal City Javelinas entered their tilt with the Lytle Pirates with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Crystal City's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dakota Rivera, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rivera has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Christopher Mena, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Lytle lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zacharee Perez, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Perez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Pierce, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds.
Lytle struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Crystal City racked up 23 assists.
Crystal City is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. As for Lytle, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-6.
Crystal City will take on Dilley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dilley is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Lytle, they will head out on the road to take on Natalia at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Natalia has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 191 points over their last three games.
