The Kennedy Bears had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were outmatched by Fredonia on the road and fell 93-54. Kennedy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-23.
Fredonia was led to victory by Mike Hahn and Davion White. Hahn scored 21 points along with nine rebounds, while White dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Hahn's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brennan Lincoln, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Kennedy's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Fredonia, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Kennedy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Global Concepts on January 12, 2024. Fredonia will be home for the holidays to greet Harbor Creek at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Harbor Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
