The biggest upset of the week belonged to Waterloo, who took down 372nd ranked Waterloo, 28-21. Stephen Morrell threw for 188 yards and one touchdown and ran for 18 yards in the win.
Geneva extended the longest winning streak in Section 5 Finger Lakes - East this week by beating East Rochester-Gananda, 36-21. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Panthers.
Greg Martino and Justin Morrison gave Wayne a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Martino threw for 229 yards and four touchdowns, while Morrison ran for 168 yards. Cody Herman also contributed to the rushing game with 67 yards on the ground.
Joshua Lennon was the best wideout in the league this week as Palmyra-Macedon topped the Indians. Lennon racked up five receptions for 127 yards. Jacob Bleier helped Palmyra-Macedon's passing attack out by catching three balls for 32 yards.
The Red Raiders' Morrell and Lennon have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Morrell has thrown for 1182 yards this season, while Lennon, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 20 catches for 531 yards. Morrison from the Eagles leads the league in rushing with 450 yards.
A big matchup in Section 5 Finger Lakes - East this week will be when the Bombers take on Newark. East Rochester-Gananda is in third place, while the Reds are in second place.
Palmyra-Macedon moved up to 393 from 439 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Steve Sanzo's team was able to make the jump by beating Waterloo 28-21.
