Caden Camden and Brandt Kieninger were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Camden tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Kieninger struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At the plate, Camden went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double, while Kieninger scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Collin Sookram was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Comerford, who scored two runs and stole a base.
The victory got Greenwood Christian Academy back to even at 1-1.
Greenwood Christian Academy and Morristown will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Cougars will face off against rival Muncie Burris at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Morristown is set to challenge their familiar foe North Decatur at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
