The Towanda Black Knights lost against the Athens Wildcats back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Towanda received a tough blow as they fell 69-52 to Athens.
Connor Mosher was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds for Athens. The team also got some help courtesy of Korey Miller, who scored 13 points along with six assists and five steals.
Towanda has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Athens, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Towanda will take on Troy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Troy will roll in looking for their 19th straight victory, something Towanda surely won't give up without a fight. As for Athens, they will be playing at home against Mansfield at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Athens focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
