Brennan is 9-1 against Marshall since February of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The two teams will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. One thing working in Brennan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
Brennan is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing O'Connor: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Brennan blew O'Connor out of the water with a 72-43 final score. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 26 points or more this season.

12/03/24 @ Harlan | 25 |
Camden Cowgill and Kingston Flemings were among the main playmakers for Brennan as the former went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 24 points and the latter posted 16 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. Flemings' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Donovan Criss, who had 13 points.
They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Brennan was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as O'Connor only racked up 12 assists.
Meanwhile, Marshall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Harlan and fell 79-49. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 680th, while the Hawks are ranked 102nd).
Despite the defeat, Marshall saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jason Vidaurri almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. Vidaurri has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Adam Camacho, who put up 11 points.
Brennan pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.9 points per game. As for Marshall, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Brennan has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.3 boards per game. However, it's not like Marshall struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.5 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Brennan didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Marshall in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, but they still walked away with a 75-71 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Marshall's Luke Gonzalez, who went 7 of 12 from beyond the arc on his way to 30 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for Brennan to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
