On Friday, The Liberty-Eylau Leopards never let their opponents score. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat North Lamar 42-0 at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Liberty-Eylau.
Liberty-Eylau's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tavarious Neal led the charge by rushing for 50 yards and a touchdown, while also picking up 56 receiving yards. Neal was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards. Jaquan Johnson was another key contributor, rushing for 46 yards and two touchdowns.
Liberty-Eylau's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for North Lamar, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.
Liberty-Eylau will square off against Carthage at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Carthage knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully Liberty-Eylau likes a good challenge. North Lamar does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
