Cincinnati Country Day is on a 11-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while St. Bernard-Elmwood Place is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Cincinnati Country Day Nighthawks will take on the St. Bernard-Elmwood Place Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Cincinnati Country Day got themselves on the board against Lockland, but Lockland never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 41-0 victory over the Panthers on the road. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Cincinnati Country Day had established a 34 point advantage.
Lee Thomas had a dynamite game for Cincinnati Country Day, rushing for 250 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 14.7 yards per carry. Thomas was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards.
Meanwhile, St. Bernard-Elmwood Place got themselves on the board against New Miami on Friday, but New Miami never followed suit. They really took it to the Vikings for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-0 win at home.
Demico Harris continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 254 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries. Harris is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jah Neal, who rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
St. Bernard-Elmwood Place's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Leading the way was Giovonni Higgins and his two sacks.
Their wins bumped Cincinnati Country Day to 9-0 and St. Bernard-Elmwood Place to 8-1.
Cincinnati Country Day didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against St. Bernard-Elmwood Place in their previous meeting back in September of 2022, but they still walked away with a 10-6 win.
