The Southeast Seminoles will head out on the road to face off against the Lemon Bay Manta Rays at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, Southeast turned things around against Lakewood on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 22-4 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Seminoles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Southeast got a great performance from Lucero (Jada) Salas-Canales as she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off only two hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Salas-Canales a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Kaelyn Poole was a standout: she scored four runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-6. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Kimberly Cordero, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Lemon Bay got the win against Hardee on Friday by a conclusive 16-5. Considering the Manta Rays have won six games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Reagan Altieri spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits.
At the plate, Lemon Bay got a massive performance out of Cassidy Robejsek, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Mattie Couture, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.
Lemon Bay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Lemon Bay now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Southeast, their record now sits at 2-10.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Southeast hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .417. However, it's not like Lemon Bay struggles in that department as they've averaged .366. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Southeast suffered a grim 22-0 defeat to Lemon Bay in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can the Seminoles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
