Lakeshore dropped down to 6-8 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Northshore Panthers, falling 8-2. Lakeshore was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Northshore earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

As for Northshore, they pushed their record up to 10-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

For Northshore's part, Connor Smith made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Smith has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Derek Weilbaecher was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 11 contests. Kobi Latulippe also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

While Lakeshore had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
