Even though the Waldorf Wolverines scored an imposing 72 points on Friday, the Luther Cougars still came out on top. Luther secured a 77-72 W over Waldorf. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Luther.
Luther's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Trail, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Trail has scored all season. Lenny Cruz was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with two steals.
Luther now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Waldorf, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2.
Luther will head out on the road to square off against Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Waldorf does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
