The Kokomo Wildkats posted their biggest victory since November 29, 2023 on Friday. They breezed by Logansport at home to the tune of 54-25. Given Kokomo's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Logansport is ranked 366th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Aijia Elliott, who scored 22 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. She hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Ma'Kaela Drake was another key contributor, scoring five points along with three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Logansport lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lydia Goad. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points.
Logansport struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
The win makes it two in a row for Kokomo and bumps their season record up to 9-7. As for Logansport, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Kokomo will head out on the road to square off against Harrison at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Harrison is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Logansport, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Rochester at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Rochester focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Saturday.
