The Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans lost against the Williston-Elko Blue Devils back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Ridge Spring-Monetta was outmatched by Williston-Elko on the road and fell 62-35. Ridge Spring-Monetta has not had much luck with Williston-Elko recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Ridge Spring-Monetta saw an underclassman step up: Taylah Leaphart scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Leaphart scored a full 48.6% of Ridge Spring-Monetta's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Ridge Spring-Monetta's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Williston-Elko, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Ridge Spring-Monetta is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Williston-Elko at 6:30 p.m. on January 2nd. Williston-Elko will be looking to keep their two-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive. They will take on Ridge Spring-Monetta at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ridge Spring-Monetta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Thursday.
