The Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They breezed by Crooms Academy at home to the tune of 69-28. The victory was just what Cornerstone Charter Academy needed coming off of a 69-34 defeat in their prior matchup.
Leading Cornerstone Charter Academy to victory were Fernanda Sanchez and Grace Jervis. Sanchez scored 14 points, while Jervis scored 18 points. Jervis continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenah Maddox, who scored eight points.
The victory got Cornerstone Charter Academy back to even at 7-7. As for Crooms Academy, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-10.
Cornerstone Charter Academy will square off against Old Plank Christian Academy at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Hopefully Old Plank Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Thursday. As for Crooms Academy, they will be playing at home against Warner Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
