After flying high against Varsity Opponent on Friday, the Fayette Academy Vikings came back down to earth. Fayette Academy was beaten by the Lions 72-19 on Saturday. Fayette Academy has struggled against the Lions recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Fayette Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Allie reese Herzke, who scored six points, and Hannah Logan who scored six points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Logan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
Trinity Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anna Sanders out in front who scored 12 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tori Robinson, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Fayette Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-15.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing University School of Jackson the next time they take the court. Trinity Christian Academy will host University School of Jackson at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, while Fayette Academy will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
