The Wiggins Tigers will be playing at home against the Prairie Mustangs at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Friday, Wiggins ended up a good deal behind Merino and lost 52-34. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wiggins has scored all season.
Riley Hunt put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times she's played. Taelynn Epple was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Prairie unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Fleming by a score of 37-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Prairie has suffered yet this season.
Wiggins' defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-5. As for Prairie, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Wiggins took their win against Prairie in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 53-27. With Wiggins ahead 27-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
