Hamilton County is 8-0 against Frankfort since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. Hamilton County will be strutting in after a victory while Frankfort will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, Hamilton County didn't have too much trouble with Flora on the road as they won 65-49. The win was just what Hamilton County needed coming off of a 58-32 loss in their prior matchup.
Hamilton County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rayci Phelps led the charge by scoring 22 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Phelps has scored at least a third of Hamilton County's points. Kaylie Brake was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Frankfort's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of DuQuoin by a score of 51-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Frankfort has suffered yet this season.
Hamilton County's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-12. As for Frankfort, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-22.
Hamilton County beat Frankfort 49-41 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hamilton County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
