It was a good run, but The St. Mary Gaels unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a serious blow against DePaul Catholic, falling 63-21. While losing is never fun, St. Mary can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 209th, while DePaul Catholic is ranked 17th).
Among those leading the charge was Nolan James, who rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns. Yasire Howell got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
St. Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for DePaul Catholic, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-5.
St. Mary does not have any more games scheduled as of now. DePaul Catholic will take on St. Thomas Aquinas at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Thomas Aquinas is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
