The Bradwell Institute Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 26 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Woodville-Tompkins 58-26 at home. The victory was familiar territory for Bradwell Institute who now have four in a row.
Bradwell Institute's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Parris Parham led the charge by scoring 21 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Parham has scored at least 25% of Bradwell Institute's points. Janiyah Blevins was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists and four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Woodville-Tompkins lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brianna Pelote. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Pelote scored a full 46.2% of Woodville-Tompkins' points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Armstrong, who scored eight points.
Even though they lost, Woodville-Tompkins were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Bradwell Institute pushed their record up to 13-1 with that victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Woodville-Tompkins, they have fallen quite a ways from their 24-6 record last season and are now at 5-8.
Bradwell Institute will head out on the road to face off against Liberty County at 5:30 p.m. on January 6th. As for Woodville-Tompkins, they will look to defend their home court on January 6th against Bethune-Bowman at 3:00 p.m.
