It was a good run, but the Allen East Mustangs unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 68-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kenton. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Allen East lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Logan Helser, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Carson Clum, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Allen East's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Kenton, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8.
Allen East and the Bearcats will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Spencerville's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups. As for Kenton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Van Wert has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 6.
