5A District 6 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Pasco's David Emmanuel rumbled for the longest rushing play in 5A District 6 this season in his game against Gulf last week. Emmanuel scampered for 55 yards on the play and finished with 122 on the day as his team topped the Buccaneers.
Tyler Degen and Andrew Meyer provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Anclote. The longest such play in the league this season, the connection resulted in 70 yards.
Fivay's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Degen threw for 295 and four touchdowns and Meyer had 231 yards receiving. On the ground Davion Sutton chipped in 203 yards. Kevin Faulkner helped Fivay's passing attack out by catching two balls for 46 yards.
Fivay's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Falcons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Degen has thrown for 534 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Meyer has 10 catches for 303 yards. Sutton leads the league in rushing with 365 yards.
A big matchup in 5A District 6 this week will be when the Falcons take on Wesley Chapel. At the moment, Fivay is in second, while the Wildcats are in fourth.
Hudson and Ridgewood played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Hudson eventually emerging with a 27-24 victory. Noah Siegrist ran for 165 yards and caught one passes for 16 yards in the win.
