The Indian Land Warriors were the 54-36 winner over the Catawba Ridge Copperheads when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Indian Land took a 49-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Catawba Ridge on Tuesday. Indian Land has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Indian Land's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Skylar Young, who scored 23 points, and Emily Callahan who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Callahan has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 16 times she's played.
Morgan Davis continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Catawba Ridge, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Davis has scored at least a third of Catawba Ridge's points. Taylor Reilly was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
Indian Land's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Catawba Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 7-17.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Indian Land will square off against Lancaster at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Carolina (Indian Land is ranked 164th, while Lancaster is ranked 147th). As for Catawba Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Northwestern at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
