Softball Recap: Calvary Chapel Academy Gets the Win

While Calvary Chapel Academy's victory against Central Florida Christian Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Calvary Chapel Academy won by a run and slipped past Central Florida Christian Academy 12-11. The win was some much needed relief for Calvary Chapel Academy as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Natalie Keen, who scored two runs while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilian Stuart, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Calvary Chapel Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Calvary Chapel Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Central Florida Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Calvary Chapel Academy will take on Oasis Christian in a tournament on Friday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season.
