Softball Recap: Regis Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Regis came tearing into Friday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 21-2 margin over the East Linn Christian Academy Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won 11 matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Addie Bishop looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hadley Foster was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Mayla Manning, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Regis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .615. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in six consecutive games.

Regis pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for East Linn Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Regis will welcome Gervais at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Linn Christian Academy, they will square off against Crow at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
