After three games on the road, Celebration is heading back home. They will take on The St. Cloud Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Celebration comes in on a streak of failing to score more than zero points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Celebration fell victim to Flagler Palm Coast's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 39-0 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, Celebration can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 493rd, while Flagler Palm Coast is ranked 154th).
Meanwhile, St. Cloud entered their tilt with South Lake with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. St. Cloud didn't even let South Lake onto the board and left with a 7-0 win on Friday.
One reason for the win was St. Cloud's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. South Lake's QB won't forget Jayden Woods anytime soon given Woods sacked him four times.
Celebration's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 2-6 Osceola and 2-6 Liberty (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.5% over those games). As for St. Cloud, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Celebration might still be hurting after the 32-6 loss they got from St. Cloud in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Will Celebration have more luck at home instead of on the road?
