The Crested Butte Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Ridgway Demons at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Crested Butte is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Demons in Colorado (the Titans are ranked 92nd, while the Demons are ranked 306th).
Crested Butte unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They received a tough blow as they fell 65-46 to Sanford.
Despite the defeat, Crested Butte had strong showings from Weston Miller, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks, and Riley Davis, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five assists. Davis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games he's played.
Meanwhile, Ridgway's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 78-57 walloping at the hands of Telluride. Ridgway has not had much luck with the Miners recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Crested Butte's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3. As for Ridgway, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-9.
Everything went Crested Butte's way against the Demons in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the Titans made off with a 67-47 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Crested Butte since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
