After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Western Harnett, E.E. Smith was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Westover Wolverines as they made off with a 39-24 victory. The Golden Bulls' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

E.E. Smith let Maya Florido and Makayla Nearn run wild. Florido got on base in seven of her 11 plate appearances with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs, while Nearn got on base in six of her nine plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. Those four stolen bases gave Nearn a new career-high. Keziah Speller was another key player, getting on base in five of her ten plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs.

E.E. Smith always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

E.E. Smith's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-11. As for Westover, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15.

E.E. Smith wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 19-13 victory against Terry Sanford on the 23rd. Hopefully Westover paid attention to the Golden Bulls' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Golden Bulls at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
