The Vermilion Catholic Eagles had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past Centerville 57-14 at home. The result was nothing new for Vermilion Catholic, who have now won four contests by 24 points or more so far this season.
Although Centerville took the loss, they still got scores from Taeshawn Jones and Jamari Ayrow.
Vermilion Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Centerville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vermilion Catholic will square off against Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central Catholic is on a three-game streak of home wins, Vermilion Catholic a nine-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. As for Centerville, they will head out on the road to face off against Highland Baptist Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Highland Baptist Christian is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
