The biggest upset of the week belonged to Willapa Valley, who took down 140th ranked Naselle, 34-20. David Rockett ran for 130 yards and caught one passes for five yards in the win.
The Vikings moved up to 168 from 210 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2B Pacific. A 34-20 win over the Comets helped Willapa Valley improve its standing.
Andrew Hamilton put up the best numbers through the air as Raymond beat Ocosta. He finished with two completions for 54 yards and one touchdown. Hamilton's favorite target this week was Carte Bisbee, who caught one pass for 28 yards.
Alec Oatfield made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Gulls defeated the Wildcats. The 5-foot-10 senior pulled down one interception.
Drew Pearson was the best wideout in the league this week as Greg Wonhoff's team topped Naselle. Pearson racked up four receptions for 50 yards. Steven Ochman helped Willapa Valley's passing attack out by catching one ball for 16 yards.
The Vikings' Matt Konigsberger and Pearson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Konigsberger has thrown for 155 yards this season, while Pearson, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has seven catches for 119 yards. Raymond's Alex Sida leads the league in rushing yards with 318.
A big matchup in 2B Pacific this week will be when Rob Clements's team takes on North Beach. At the moment, the Gulls are in third, while the Hyaks are in fourth.
Willapa Valley extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Jeff Eaton's team, 34-20. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Vikings.
