Baseball Game Preview: Greenwich Country Day Tigers vs. St. Luke's Storm

Greenwich Country Day and St. Luke are an even 3-3-1 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Tigers will square off against the Storm at 4:43 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Greenwich Country Day has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Greenwich Country Day is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Harvey by a score of 10-8 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tigers have suffered since April 10th.

Bryce Hill made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Randall, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, St. Luke's came up short against Frederick Gunn on Friday and fell 6-3. The Storm have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Luke's saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Zoccolillo, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Greenwich Country Day's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for St. Luke's, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Greenwich Country Day has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. Luke's struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Greenwich Country Day couldn't quite finish off St. Luke's when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
