The Homestead Broncos will head out on the road to  square off against  the Varela Vipers at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Homestead is no doubt hoping to put an end to  a four-game streak of away losses.
 Homestead pushed their score all the way to 12 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Coral Gables by a score of  13-12.
  Faith Jones led a balanced group of hitters,  going 2-for-4 with two  stolen bases, four  RBI,  and two  runs.  Sophia Santiesteban was another key contributor,  scoring four  runs and  stealing four bases while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Varela earned  a  10-6 win over Coral Park  on Thursday. The  victory was just what Varela needed coming off of  a  19-8 loss in their prior  game.
  Paula Martinez made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out 12 batters over  seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and three unearned) runs off   six  hits. Martinez was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with a  stolen base, two  RBI,  and a  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Mia Martinez, who  went 2-for-4 with three  stolen bases, four  RBI,  and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  Isabella Sanchez, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
 Homestead's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Varela, their win bumped their record up to an identical 3-7.
 Everything went Homestead's way against Varela in their previous meeting  back in April of 2022 as Homestead made off with  a  15-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Homestead since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
