Softball Recap: Pisgah Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

Pisgah won the last time they faced Pelahatchie and things went their way on Thursday too. The Dragons put the hurt on the Chiefs with a sharp 12-2 win. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by seven runs or more this season.

Hallie McCurdy made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, Alex Holeman was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-4. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Audrey Best was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Pisgah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .303 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Pisgah pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Pelahatchie, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season.

Pisgah didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Wesson on the 4th. As for Pelahatchie, they will face off against Raleigh at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
