Council Grove came tearing into Monday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Hillsboro Trojans. Considering the Braves have won 12 games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Council Grove pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Hillsboro, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Council Grove will have a chance to go back-to-back against Hillsboro: the pair will be back at it again later today.
