Cleveland has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on The Jefferson County Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Cleveland made easy work of Hardin Valley Academy and carried off a 29-3 victory. Given Cleveland's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Hardin Valley Academy is ranked 122nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cleveland can attribute much of their success to Brayden Carroll, who picked up 122 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Lj Adams, who rushed for 37 yards and a touchdown. Carroll's longest reception was for an incredible 76 yards.
Meanwhile, Jefferson County entered their tilt with William Blount with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Jefferson County blew past William Blount 68-28 at home. Jefferson County pushed the score to 54-28 by the end of the third, a deficit William Blount had little chance of recovering from.
It was another big night for Omarian Mills, who rushed for 156 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Mills hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games. Skylar Thomas was another major influence, as he rushed for 73 yards and ran in a TD.
Their wins bumped Cleveland to 6-4 and Jefferson County to 9-1.
