Jones put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 56-0 victory over Horizon. Given Jones' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Horizon is ranked 280th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jones' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jerrian Parker led the charge by rushing for 130 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. Parker really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run. Another player making a difference was Trever Jackson, who rushed for 20 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Dr. Phillips was able to grind out a solid win over Ocoee on Thursday, taking the game 27-19.
Jones' victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Dr. Phillips, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
