The Roane County Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the Cumberland County Jets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Roane County comes in on eight and Cumberland County on four.
Roane County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 23 points or more this season. They breezed by Sweetwater on the road to the tune of 70-37. Given Roane County's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Sweetwater is ranked 376th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Cumberland County earned a 50-43 win over Clarkrange on Friday.
Roane County pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Cumberland County, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Roane County was dealt a bruising 77-50 loss at the hands of Cumberland County in their previous meeting back in November of 2018. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Roane County was down 48-27.
