The Black River Pirates lost against the Keystone Wildcats back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Black River took a 57-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. Black River has not had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Black River lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Blake Hopkins, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Hopkins hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Ridge Martin was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Leading Keystone to victory were Blake Moore and Liam Goran. Moore scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Goran scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moore has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Logan Nagle, who scored three points along with 12 rebounds.
Black River dropped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points per game. As for Keystone, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Black River will take on the Clippers at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Clearview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Tuesday. As for Keystone, they will be playing at home against the Bucks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Buckeye's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
