The Bartram Trail Bears are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the Beachside Barracudas at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
Bartram Trail blew Fletcher out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Fletcher got their revenge. The Bears fell just short of the Senators by a score of 7-5. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Bartram Trail saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cecilla Perry, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Mallory Cooper was another, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Beachside gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over Flagler Palm Coast.
Vita Lagattola was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Lagattola was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Adalyn Hinsky looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.
Back at the plate, Mallie Meadows and Emma Effinger did most of the damage at the plate: Meadows went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Effinger got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kyleigh Kendall, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.
Beachside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2025.
Everything went Bartram Trail's way against Beachside in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Bartram Trail made off with an 11-0 win. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Barracudas turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
