The Hanover Wildcats won the last time they faced the Valley Heights Mustangs, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Hanover came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 55-45. Given Hanover's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Mustangs are ranked 230th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hanover found their leader in underclassman Tanner Bruna, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bruna has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Martin, who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds and two blocks.
Hanover's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Valley Heights, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hanover and the Buffaloes will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Valley Heights, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Eagles. Axtell will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
