Multi-sport high school star
Duce Robinson of
Pinnacle (Phoenix, Ariz.) recently said he will announce his college commitment by the end of this signing period, which wraps up April 1. The 6-foot-6, 225-pound senior is a top prospect in both football and baseball and isn't ruling out trying to play both at the college level.
On the gridiron, Robinson is the No. 1-rated tight end in the nation according to
247Sports. His finalists include Alabama, Georgia, USC and Texas.
Last fall as a senior at Pinnacle, Robinson helped lead the Pioneers to the state championship game after
catching 84 passes for 1,614 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was a MaxPreps All-American at all four grade levels
while amassing 3,006 career receiving yards and 24 touchdowns.
Robinson, who possesses a 6-foot-10 wingspan, was named an Under Armour All-American in football and baseball. He participated in an Under Armour All-American showcase game at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City last summer, driving in a run and playing alongside seven 2023 projected first round draft picks.
Robinson joined A.J. Brown, Jerrion Ealy, Maurice Hampton and Kyler Murray as the only athletes to have been named Under Armour All-American in baseball and football.
On the diamond, Robinson plays club baseball and has been compared to Aaron Judge by hitting for power and using his long frame to cover an excess of ground in right field. He is coming off the Area Code Select West event where he hit .600 with an on-base percentage of .778 against some of the top prospects in the west.
