The Suitland Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight defeat. Their rough 92-68 defeat to Wise might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Suitland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while Wise is ranked 48th).
It was another big night for Jamal Drummond, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 0 assists for Wise. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Drummond has scored all season. Justin Ware was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight assists and four steals.
Suitland's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-13. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Wise, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Suitland will take on Friendly at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. As for Wise, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eleanor Roosevelt at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Wise's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 14 matchups.
