Chicago Vocational has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Tuesday. They will face off against the Urban Prep-Bronzeville Lions at 4:30 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, everything came up roses for Chicago Vocational at home against EPIC Academy as the team secured a 84-33 victory. The victory was just what Chicago Vocational needed coming off of a 71-40 defeat in their prior match.
Ron Thigpen was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with 7 rebounds and 7 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Chicago Vocational's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendaro Cassidy, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 assists.
Meanwhile, Urban Prep-Bronzeville was fully in charge on Wednesday, breezing past EPIC Academy 75-15 at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Urban Prep-Bronzeville.
Urban Prep-Bronzeville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tristan Hunter led the charge by scoring 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jakari Dismukes, who scored 15 points.
The losses dropped Chicago Vocational to 1-3 and EPIC Academy to 0-3.
Chicago Vocational suffered a grim 70-49 defeat to Urban Prep-Bronzeville when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Chicago Vocational avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
