Softball Recap: Luling Has No Trouble Against Stockdale

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Goliad, Luling was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Stockdale Brahmas 14-6. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won ten matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Nedeyin Magallanez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Magallanez was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-6 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Serenity Nunez, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in triples (two). Another player making a difference was Xxabriella Rodriguez, who scored two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Luling's win bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Stockdale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Luling will be playing in front of their home fans against Karnes City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are facing the Badgers at the right time seeing as the Badgers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Stockdale, they will face off against Nixon-Smiley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
