Basketball Recap: Cayleigh Johnson and Micah Davis Secure Win for Atlantic Collegiate Academy

On Wednesday, the Atlantic Collegiate Academy Armada strolled past the Manning Monarchs with points to spare, taking the game 61-42.

Atlantic Collegiate Academy was led to victory by Micah Davis and Cayleigh Johnson. Davis posted 14 points and eight rebounds, while Johnson scored 15 points. Davis has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times she's played. Zaniya Blackmon was another key player, putting up eight points.

Manning's loss came despite strong showings from Aysia Moore and Tahirah Wellington. Moore went 6 of 13 en route to 15 points, while Wellington had 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Moore a new career-high in points.

Atlantic Collegiate Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-10 record this season. As for Manning, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Atlantic Collegiate Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 45-39 loss against Lake City on the 31st. Manning has also already played their next game, a 67-61 defeat against Mullins on the 31st.
