The Minto Lakers lost against Non Varsity Opponent last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Minto's tough 56-31 defeat to Non Varsity Opponent might stick with them for a while.
Minto's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Naomi Fox, who scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Gibson, who scored nine points.
Minto's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Non Varsity Opponent, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 65-114.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Minto won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tok at 2:00 p.m. on January 4th. Non Varsity Opponent and Stephenville FAITH will face off at 4:00 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
