The biggest upset of the week belonged to Woodward Academy, who took down 28th ranked St. Pius X Catholic, 20-14.
Timmy Mertz of Blessed Trinity ran for the longest rushing play in AAA Region 6 this season against McNair last week. Mertz ran for 60 yards on the play and finished with 75 on the day as his team beat the Mustangs.
Blessed Trinity's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Spencer McManes threw for 98 and three touchdowns and Nathaniel Maggio had 41 yards receiving. Sam Roberts helped Blessed Trinity's passing attack out by catching three balls for 30 yards.
6-foot-4 quarterback Johnathon McCrary of Cedar Grove is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1441. He has also thrown 14 touchdowns. On the ground, the Titans' Milton Shelton has rushed for 603 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Roberts. The Blessed Trinity star has 18 catches for 338 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Saints take on the War Eagles. Cedar Grove's offense has scored 255 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Woodward Academy has allowed only 78 on the year.
A big matchup in AAA Region 6 this week will be when the Golden Lions take on Blessed Trinity. St. Pius X Catholic is currently in third, while the Titans are in first.
Blessed Trinity extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating McNair, 38-6. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
