Cherryvale posted their closest victory since October 12, 2024 on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Oswego Indians 2-1. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Cherryvale had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-19, 25-13.

Despite the defeat, Oswego saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jaycee Schulz had 15 digs and three aces. Schulz is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Mia Hiben also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Cherryvale's victory bumped their record up to 2-13-1. As for Oswego, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Cherryvale has already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Northeast on the 20th. As for Oswego, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Columbus on the 20th.
