Baseball Recap: Ogden Comes Up Short

After flying high against Ben Lomond two weeks ago, Ogden came back down to earth. The Tigers fell just short of the Logan Grizzlies by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Grizzlies earlier this season, when they won 5-2.

Lucas Bushell made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Ogden's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-14 when he doesn't). Cristian Martinez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Ogden has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Logan, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-15.

Looking ahead, Ogden is taking a road trip to face off against Grantsville at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cowboys have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Logan, they will face off against Ben Lomond at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
