Kylo Dodd made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Dodd was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Talia Olivito and Sadie Rundle did most of the damage at the plate: Olivito scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Rundle went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. Those runs were Rundle's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Shyanne Rowe, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Fairmont Senior kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Berkeley Springs only managed nine hits.
Meanwhile, East Fairmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 14-6 to Pendleton County.
Gracie Snyder was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.
The victory got Fairmont Senior back to even at 3-3. As for East Fairmont, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
East Fairmont's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Fairmont Senior has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for East Fairmont, though, as they've been averaging only 2.9 strikeouts. Will Fairmont Senior keep running through batters, or will East Fairmont buck the trend?
Fairmont Senior took their win against East Fairmont in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fairmont Senior since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
